Home Visiting Opportunities
Our home-based program brings early learning and parenting support directly to you. Trained home visitors partner with families of infants and toddlers to foster development, build strong bonds, and connect to local resources—all from the comfort of home.

Emilia’s Journey

When Emilia and her mom first came to Kai Ming, they carried a long journey with them. Emilia had spent 237 days in the NICU and had already been through several surgeries. After everything they had experienced, her mom was simply hoping to find a place where her daughter would be cared for, included, and given the chance to grow.

When we met Emilia, we didn’t just see her medical needs. We saw a curious little girl with a quiet determination. We told her mom not to worry—that we would work together to make sure Emilia had the support she needed at school.

From the beginning, it truly became a team effort. Her mom, her therapists, and our teachers stayed in close communication, sharing ideas and celebrating every bit of progress along the way.
And then the beautiful moments started to happen.

Within a couple of months, Emilia—who had arrived unable to walk—began taking her first steps on her own. And today, Emilia fills her classroom with smiles and laughter. She’s spending more time eating by mouth, playing with her classmates, and exploring the world around her. Every day, she continues to surprise us with how strong and determined she is.

Watching Emilia grow has been a gift for all of us. Her journey reminds us why community matters so much—because when families, teachers, and therapists come together to support a child, amazing things can happen. At Kai Ming, we care for every child as our own.
