Wu Yee Children’s Services provides a comprehensive range of culturally responsive services to the children and families of San Francisco. We are the city’s largest Head Start and Early Head Start provider, partnering with families to care for and educate over 4,000 children. Our network of Family Child Care Homes serves 2,000 infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. We also provide early resources and support to expectant mothers and families through our Home Visiting Program. Wu Yee promotes children’s healthy development through a variety of wraparound supports, including an initiative to provide nutritious meals to more than 1,000 families.

Wu Yee’s Joy Lok Family Resource Center is a vibrant community space for families, offering educational playgroups, parenting workshops, social support networks, and a toy and book-lending library. In the past year, 1,200 family members accessed vital resources and public benefits assistance, all free of charge, at Joy Lok Family Resource Center.

Our recently opened Bay View Children’s Hub builds upon our five existing Head Start centers in District 10, complementing local programming and offering an array of activities for young children and families, from enrichment classes to family support. The Hub PlayZone offers drop-in activities and a playroom for children 0-5 and their caregivers.

Wu Yee Children’s Services is committed to strengthening early childhood resources throughout San Francisco. We successfully advocated for increased funding to enhance access to Early Learning Scholarships, making over 25,000 families with children under six eligible for financial support for early care and education. We actively promote legislation that benefits our city’s children and families.

Finally, Wu Yee is committed to building a diverse, skilled local workforce of early childhood professionals. Our new IRISE Program directly addresses the city-wide early childhood education staffing shortage by developing a highly skilled workforce from within the communities we serve.
